Multi Entry Business Visa Applications
According to the Libyan Foreign Liaison Bureau all European passsport holders must provide the following documentation to acquire a BIOMETRIC visa which must be obtained in person by the applicant.
- Valid Passport (Six months minimum for six-month visa applicants; 12 months minimum for one-year visa applicants) with Arabic transcript
- Visa Application Form – View Here
- Four color photos (3 x 4 cms)
- Invitation Letter indicating the purpose of the visit (provided, in Arabic, by the LBBC)
- Return Tickets
- Work/Professional Licence or contract for any self-employed person
- Hotel Reservation
- Letter from Employer
- Invitation Letter for businessmen from hosting company or organisation (see point 4 above)
NB. Personal Attendance is required both at application and on receipt of your visa.
Each passport requires an Arabic translation stamp. This can be arranged by the Arab British Chamber of Commerce (contact details below) at a cost of £25 (incl. VAT).

Your personal passport details and the Arabic translation should be scanned and emailed to: secretariat@lbbc.org.uk, for the attention of John Parr, LBBC Deputy Director General.
He will then forward these details to the Libyan Businessmen Council (LBC) after payment is received. The current costs of obtaining this authorisation number with a letter of invitation are:
- £392.00 + VAT per applicant (for a six month multi-entry visa)
- £768.00 + VAT per applicant (for a 12-month multi-entry visa)
A detailed invoice will be supplied by email by the LBBC (payment can be made by credit card). The Libyan Businessmen Council will take these details to the Libyan Ministry of Immigration who will issue an Authorisation Number which will be faxed to Consulate in London or the applicants local Libyan Consulate. This process takes approximately 7-10 working days. This authorisation number will also be sent to the LBBC by email, as a letter of invitation, who will forward it to the applying member.
After the Visa Authorisation Number is obtained, an application should be put into the Libyan Consulate in the usual way, with appropriate documentation and fee payable (Currently £150 for a six month entry visa).

Please note that each applicant must apply IN PERSON. The Consulate recently changed its opening times: it is now open Monday to Thursday from 09.30 until midday. Collection times are 14.00-15.00.
